Motivating others to reach their goals is what Jessica Craft does, especially when it comes to fitness. Jessica loves to positively influence others in every aspect of life, but physical activity has always been a passion of hers therefore its where she gravitates to. However, we all know that you can apply the techniques you use to approach fitness to everyday life.

Beginning

As I mentioned before, Jessica has always been an active person. She even has a career as a professional dancer. “ I have always been physical and into movement as I am a professional dancer. When I stopped performing as much I then started to go to the gym more, my partner has also been through similar as he was into football and when he stopped playing pro he then got into the gym. It keeps me fit, helps me clear my head and makes me more motivated and determined in other areas of my life too,” Jessica says.

Workouts

Because Jessica is a dancer, I was interested to learn if there was a certain method to the way she approaches fitness that may differ from the typical approach. “I always switch it up, I like to change my workouts to keep my body in shock and always working. I think it’s difficult as everyone’s bodies are different, they all work differently, we have different genetics… For me it’s about taking my time to know what works for me and what doesn’t.

As far as training for dancing specifically, dancers are constantly moving, it is a great form of cardio! My stamina was definitely at its highest when I was dancing 2 hours every night non stop on stage! If you want to build muscle, you would have to go to the gym also. I used to get up and do 45 – 60 mins in the gym of weights, and then my evening show of dancing for 2 hours as my cardio. This was good as I had lean muscle building. Ballet dancers have great legs for the strength they need each show, they tend to build very lean muscle as they are constantly jumping, on their toes., lifting etc,” Jessica explains.

Mindset

Jessica is really big on helping people change their mindset in order to meet their goals. After all the mid is the foundation for anything that you want to achieve. “To plough through the hard times, you have to be strong minded. Your mindset is so important within the fitness industry. To stay motivated on your own journey and don’t be affected by anyone else’s,” Jesscia declares.
